Yeah, if you noticed, the coffee on the last panel switched hands *shrugs*
And yes, THAT really happened. Both panels really happened.
And no, the tech guy is NOT gay.

Blogging from the office.
May. 12th, 2009 | 08:17 am
I heard so many stories about offices' need to block certain social sites. I am rather impartial at this, because social sites sometimes have work-related benefits. The question now is "what type of work." I am glad that there are sites in the office I'm working for are not blocked (so far Multiply and Youtube are), and I am able to visit Plurk, Facebook, and post an LJ ^__^
Another good thing about the work I have is that it's running on flexi-time (to be able to render a set number of hours within the month). So if I want to sleep until 8 am, I can--given that I can make up with the hours lost within that month.
So here I am, arrived nine minutes later than usual. And instead of plurking it, I am posting it in my LJ.
Cool.

LJ Post supposedly for April 20:
Long time no see, my little livejournal account. I know I've been spending more time with Plurk, and it didn't help that the past two months had been...well...hell.
Let me tell you about it. I'm going to try to make a condensed version of it so you won't get bored.
You know that I had been taking my thesis (second one, fyi), and the way they do thesis in UP is harder than the one I had before. Although I almost did it by myself, here, I really HAVE to do it by myself.
And it's harder. More deadlines with more workload needed to finish. The professor is also demanding, and that's only one subject. Imagine if I have the regular load (which I'm wasn't, so that's good).
March 28th was the deliberations, a week before that was the pre-deliberations. The delibs were pretty easy, considering the panel was nice and supportive. It also helped that our batch finished first (11 am) because we are only six in that room.
Ironically, the most important was the pre-deliberations. This was done amongst ourselves, with our professor as the panel. Why was it important? Because although the grades you'll get in the deliberations important, the bigger grade weight lies in your professor since he knows what you have been doing with your thesis. So it took me two weeks to cram almost everything for the predelibs. Then finish everything in a week before the finals. It took my whole March away.
Around this time, I was also preparing for my employment papers. I was lucky to find work when I haven't even graduated yet. That, unfortunately, took a back seat. It had to. Graduation is the priority. Passing the subjects even! My employers were reasonable, so all was good.
The last week of March until the first week of April gave the heaviest blow. It was the last string of finals, and I hadn't finished everything (or polished them) yet. There was the thesis book that needs to type and had it bound. Then my much needed, almost forgotten, employment papers. And then there was the thesis exhibit.
The thesis exhibit had been hell. I am not surprised. We didn't have time to prepare for it with all the deadlines. But with the help of certain people, who had the time, and lent their sanity to the endeavor, we made it through.
Honestly though, I wasn't much of a help at that. Can't really. Had too many problems.
So after a week or less, I recieved my grade in Thesis, and then the graduation briefing. I am really happy with my grade and what my standing is in the batch--and then I saw a nimbus cloud covering my sunshine.
My Folk Art Theory professor decided to hold her finals on the last day of grade submission for graduating students. Oh yay.
So the next week I had been trying to meet all the requirements she set me out to do, so that I won't get held off from graduating. Up until right now, I have an INC in that subject (I already emailed my prof about this).
So we have reached to today's blog entry. First day of work as graphic artist.
So far it had been fun, and refreshing. I put the stress on the word refreshing because all I ever had was call center experiences, and not of the formal eight-to-five work shift. The people are nicer, the workload is reasonable (it is something I can confidently do), and the pay is not bad.
Perhaps the only catch is that it's only a project, and it will last for three years. Then again, considering that most Graphic Artist jobs needs experience, this maybe a good background for that.
~~~~~~~~~~
Edit: I'm already two weeks into my employed life in ASTI. Their salary release schedule is different than the usual. I want my salary :( I want to blowout people and buy people gifts for helping me finish my thesis...
...and I want to watch movies 8D That's my current love right now
Retelling a dream
Mar. 9th, 2009 | 12:13 pm
He met the girl in the bus. Their meeting reminded him of the Korean “My Sassy Girl” except the girl’s wackiness is toned down. She was small, with short cropped hair, and neutral eyes. She looked like she haven’t smiled for days.
She goes to his high school as a transferee student. They got to know each other and realized she hides her secrets and her sadness well. She got to know two of his friends, and that made them a four-man group.
Then all of a sudden, she stopped going to school. She doesn’t live in her apartment anymore. It turns out, she was admitted in an exclusive school against her wishes (by her evil grandpa).
She wants to leave, and stole a cellphone to text her friends what is going on (she is the type of girl who is not a goody-goody and will try anything when she needs it), and to hatch a plan of escape. In the middle of class, a boy found her texting and tried to snatch it away. He’s a physical bully, she thought, and one punch on his solar plexus subdued him.
Because of what happened, she got detention in the library. The school being for extremely rich and powerful, the library is empty, dark. She stayed there with the cookie library telling her not to be a bad girl and just follow the flow. She tried glaring at the librarian, but her stoic eyes remained the same.
There was a beep in the phone and she walked out of the library, while the librarian still babbling away. She walked outside and reached the main gate, where her three friends are waiting.
Before she could open it, she was spotted by her evil classmates and tried to stop her. And then some of the faculty followed.
They were about to win when her negro classmate blocks them with his scooter. He was the only one who she had made friends with, and he is now helping her get away. He scoops her and found a ramp of some sort and zooms out with her friends.
The last scene is shown as five friends with scooter and bike side by side talking and introducing her newfound friend.
And then I woke up.
~~~~~~~~~~
Weird. I practically dreamed of a whole story. Interesting though.

30 minutes (and counting) before this day ends, and I feel the need to post something.

shocked
Long title, anyway, the need stems from various surprising things that I discovered, knew, and found out today.
Arriving earlier than class time has it notable perks, and one of them, although boring, was to visit the Admin Board. And there, posted, was a list of students with the heading: "Nominees for the Phi Kappa Phi Awards."
My name was on the second line of the second column. It said I'll recieve my letter in my email.
It doesn't ANSWER the first and foremost question: What is Phi Kappa Phi, and what nomination?!
After class, I looked for one person who I know is still in the area, who can understand me, and who is on the list: Victor.
Braving the crowd for the opening of the Industrial Design Exhibit happening beside the board, I half-dragged Victor to it, and sure enough, he was as curious as I was.
Oh wait, before that, I found Meiko, a friend of mine, who was also on the list. Unlike the unlucky ones whose curiosity has to be sated on a much later time, Meiko's letter is already in the office.
We were surprised at what we saw.
And that I explained it to Victor. Details of Induction, and what Kappa is all about, we got some hints on what was going on.
I went to Mami Ket's afterwards to resume my ongoing school projects, and to tell her about the news. She was as shocked, as well as the other people I know whom I told about it.
At least I learned something from this: it helps to look at the bulletin board.
~~~~~~~~~
A few weeks ago, I applied for ASTI (Advance Science and Technology Institute). I got a text earlier today (right in the middle of the Phi Kappa Phi dilemma) from HR of ASTI saying that they emailed something to my email. Thinking that it maybe about the animation I haven't submitted, I texted back something that I am currently taking care of it. She said something about putting it on my DeviantArt, and that was the end of it.
I THOUGHT it was the end of it, until I got to Mami Ket's, used her internet, and found out I got the job.
....
I got...a job. WOAH. And I start on March 1st. That was...too soon. Since they're asking me to drop by the office tomorrow, I can go and ask them about it.
~~~~~~~~~
And I have a fieldtrip on Sunday. In Ayala Museum.
...
Nothing...just being random.
~~~~~~~~~
Oh cool. Finished this entry in ten minutes. Haha.
Oh, hai thar. Yes, I am still alive and blogging.
Feb. 8th, 2009 | 10:50 pm
mood:
sleepy
Woke up early to accompany my sister to take the entrance exam in PUP (Polytechnic University of the Philippines). We left 15 minutes before our scheduled departure, which was 10am, so that we'll be able to arrive in PUP before the test (12.30 pm).
And since it's a Sunday, we are expecting to arrive really early.
So I am about to pay the fare for our jeepney ride, when I realized something.
My wallet's missing.
"Uh, Andrea," I said to my cousin. "Did you notice me bringing my wallet out of the house earlier?"
"Nope. Why?"
"Uh-oh."
Brainstorming moment. Good thing my cousin have P60 with her for our fare, and went to Anonas to get my sister, who lives in a dorm in that area.
But when we got there, the landlady said that she just left.
Oh crap.
So I braved myself and called home. I could practically hear everyone on the other line giving me their own sermons (my mom, my dad, my uncle and auntie from Mindanao, and my other uncle who has a flight tonight to Guam).
Oh yay.
So my other sister, Kristy, came an hour later with my wallet, and escorted us ("I must make sure you guys make it to PUP.") to our destination.
And we arrived with 30 minutes to spare.
After dropping her off, my sister took her leave, and I went to Quiapo to finally buy a DVD for my Japanese professor last sem. So I found The Girl who Lept Time, and bought myself a DVD complete set of The Mischievous Princess ("What? I find it really funny.")
I saw that they're already selling Big Bang Theory season 2, but knowing that Season 2 is currently running (14 episodes so far), I decided to skip it and buy it when the season's over. And then I saw Seasons 1 to 5 of NCIS for P250.
Hm...must make ipon for that and buy it later on.
And then I recieved a text from Luigi (RF guildmate) saying that he'll come by to my house today to get the RF installer. I said, "Okay, but I'm out of the house right now. You can come by after 5pm."
I got back to PUP around 1.30 pm, and people are sitting around benches, ledges, under the trees, and wherever they can sit. I found a spot at the side of the Freedome Building, as they call it. Then I got hungry, so I bought myself a burger and gulaman. And then I sat somewhere near the stairs which is cooler and more comfortable.
An hour later, a stream of examinees started to come out. It took me sometime to spot my cousin.
We stopped at Gateway to get something to eat and buy a mouse for my uncle's new laptop (*is currently jealous*). We bought food from KFC, and I bought my uncle a small, red, and cute optical mouse xD.
(Which reminds me, I still have Funshots in my bag that I haven't eaten. I said that I'm going to give it to people here, but I totally forgot.
Oh well. More for me then, since they're all sleeping already. Ehehehe.)
So, we took a jeep back to Antipolo, and met up with Luigi and Alvia, his sister. He took us to our house, and my brother, Mark, gave him the cd.
Just a background, my brother and Luigi's sister were classmates in HS. But me and Luigi met online.
After a few hours I got a text from Luigi.
"Tere, sira yung CD." ("Tere, the CD's broken.")
*Facepalm*
Oh great. Now I have to look for that other installer.
I hope I used the term "ripped off" properly. I'll let you decide (for Filipinos, because it's mostly in Tagalog).
Year Starter 2009
Jan. 5th, 2009 | 03:43 am
mood:
bouncy
Yay for first post of the year! *insert dancing banana*
Last year had been full of mistakes, in my honest opinion. In the four years of my "personal discovery and testing," hitches appeared last year that could probably explain and answer some of the questions pertaining myself (if you have to ask, then I'm not going to answer :P). So I guess that is good, in a way.
I was able to move on with my thesis during the Christmas break, but not to the speed and amount of work I wanted to. Actually, I accomplished only a little bit, which is prolly my fault for I love to laze around and procrastinate. Hehehe.
But at least I started and finished a section. Just hope that I can finish it before the first week of school in January ends (note to self: must find anti-procrastinating drug).
So Christmas came, and I'm not expecting any gifts this year. True enough, I did not recieve any. For some people, like Carlo, that's a baaadd thing ("What?! You didn't recieve ANYTHING at all?").
Well, I find eating with more food with family more important than gifts. And besides, I like New Year's better than Christmas.
In connection to this, last Saturday, Carlo and his officemates had a team building overnight stay at Loreland Resort here in Antipolo (I am noticing a trend here...). Carlo arrived early so I can tour him around my hometown, all the while hinting that he wants to go to our house.
Situation about boyfriends in our house is not yet settled and finalize, so to spear some bloodshed and deaths, we didn't go to my house.
We had time to spare, so we went to Chepot's that afternoon to cheer her up. John and Shin came afterwards with noms. Then we had a DS party, some vids to laugh on, then we went back to Antipolo to meet up with Carlo's officemates.
First time I saw the resort fully (first time I went there, I brought food and felt mosquitoes eating me). They were a nice bunch. Even met someone who recognizes me from Miriam College (forgot her name again. Ugh). She wasn't that familiar because we have different majors, but she recognizes me as her friend's friend.
We left at six in the evening for a dinner date in Cubao. Yes. DINNER. As in the high class dinner place he found in Cubao.
Bellini's is an Italian restaurant in Cubao. Didn't know this place exists, and I was surprised to see the bars and thrift shops around it. The place was really cool, and the ambiance of the restaurant is amazing.
We had a minor disagreement about the singer though. I find him sucky. Carlo found him okay. Food was good. First time I had pesto, and was weirded out because it was oily (Didn't know it was supposed to be oily).
Want to go back there when I have a job already. Pigging out there would be a blast with just the two of us xDDD
The dinner was Carlo's gift to me for Christmas, because I didn't recieved any and he hasn't given me his gift yet at that time.
Mwee~!
Christmas came to me a day too late.
Dec. 26th, 2008 | 07:52 pm
mood:
ecstatic
I don't announce bad stuff that much. So a week ago, my cat disappeared. Okay, so maybe some of you do not understand my feelings for cats, but she's special to me and my family. We have five others, but she gets to stay inside the house and sleeps beside me. If I work late, she'll stay awake just pestering me, haha.
So I was devastated when she left and didn't return. We looked for her (even asked for help from some of our neighbors).
When Christmas came, I didn't recieved any gifts or money. I didn't mind. I just want her to come home.
And she did on December 26th.
Overnight at Sulo Hotel with the bride and the rest of the entourage. The rest of the entourage meaning, me and the maid of honor in one room, and the rest of the groomsmen and groom in one room (drinking the night away. Late stag party). Bride has her own room.
Congratulations to Louie and Bart~ Rock on~!
My feet hurt because of the heels. I am pretty okay with the dress, although people were like "Oh my god, Tere! I didn't know you were a girl~"
Carlo was there too. We just went cooky on other segments. And being cooky together is FUN~
The reception was pretty (I like the chandelier thingies), and the food was amazing. It's rare for me to find caterings like that that serve mash potatoes and soup that is not egg, mushroom, or other. It was something I haven't tasted, and I didn't even know its name.
And it's also one of those wedding that serve sushi. SUUUSHIII~~!! (and to think I was eating sushi since last night hahaha).
Aun. Imma go rest first. Tired but happy...
Yep, you said read it right. I had it confirmed earlier from my profs (well, not technically from Sir To, but considering the situation he'll be in for the Lantern Parade, he'll not be in the right mental state for consultations) that all my classes this week had been cancelled.
OH YAY TO MEH~!
But there are things that I need to do for this week:
1. Oblation Run: I'm accompanying a friend of mine there in lieu of his academic requirements (don't ask).
2. Get my dress from Ate Belen (again, don't ask).
3. Lantern Parade (first time to watch it as a non-participant).
4. If the Bakaren year-ender celebration is still on, then yes, I would probably go.
5. Preparations for Bart and Louie's wedding.
6. Wedding itself.
Here is something noteworthy. A letter from the Vampiric Council to Stephanie Meyer. Having read all four books, seeing this made me laugh.
1. Twilight.
Film Review (which will need to be revised when I see an unpirated version. Yeah, I'm sorry. Go ahead and bite me.)
Well, everything looks all right. The middle part had me laughing--the sparkling scene. I'm laughing because it's weird. Downright weird.
Bella is also weird. I was expecting that she'll be less...scared, if you know what I mean. The Bella in my mind is determined, and human, not stoic-faced and sometimes falter at the words she's not supposed to (e.g. "I'm not scared of you.")
And my imagination of the Cullen House is different. I thought it will be a bit...older. Perhaps they thought that having a modern type of house will help the Cullen's fit better in society, if they want to follow the book. Swan's house is almost right on the mark, and the school's about halfway.
At least the ending has a fight scene. Although a little. It kinda salvaged the book's climax. A little.
Don't you think I kept saying 'a little' too much. Hahaha. Erm.
I am hoping that I'll see this movie in a clearer format, not pirated (the reason for the pirated was that I acquired the book too late for me to watch the movie...and that I don't have money haha).
2. He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword.
This...is childhood geekery. I was watching the episode of Jem's Opening Song (from Jer found in Plurk), and I came across the episode (in ten parts). This is the first episode of She-Ra, telling on how she acquired her powers and meeting He-Man, his brother. It's the spin-off of He-Man, and I would've prolly seen the last episode out of curiosity if it wasn't this late (It's 2 am in the morning haha).
Oh, good. I'm finally online.
Dec. 11th, 2008 | 11:47 pm
mood:
chipper
At least the technicians for the internet service are reliable. Ugh. The sudden interruption caused my karma in my plurk account to go waaayyy down (five points, at least) and being away from my email or whatever contact I have (didn't use the internet cafe alternative. Too lazy). At least this kept me away from gaming for a little while and concentrate on much needed school work.
But it backfired.
I got bored. So I read the rest of the Twilight series: second book is emo. But I find the third and fourth book quite alright. Favorite character is Jacob Black because he's the closest I can find as a normal guy (not a Cullen, not a vampire).
I also got hooked on movie watching. Having a portable dvd player has it perks.
Epic trip home.
Dec. 4th, 2008 | 12:19 am
location: house
mood:
annoyed
Not the usual way of going home (usual is sleeping, or drifting home to dreamland retarded enough to wonder how I got into that jeepney in the first place). After I missed my one and only class of the day, and going by the photocopying people in SC and in the Main Library, going home early is easy. I took a jeep, almost empty, and when we arrived in Balara, an old man left his passport on the seat. A random passenger found it and was able to give it back.
The man, stunned, went back inside the jeep and looked for his wallet (apparently the wallet and passport are together). At the same time, another man was screaming at the driver of that same jeepney, complaining at how he almost got run him over.
Argh. Too much drama. I was tempted to go down and ride another jeep, but I realized I already paid.
Going home means I need to take two jeepney rides to Antipolo. But I have to go by to Marikina to check on my dress to wear to Bart and Louie's wedding. I was waiting for a Marikina-bound jeepney when a woman approached me, near-tears, asking me for at least P45 to get home. Her wallet got stolen, and she already went to the police (which was ironically just the other side of the road) and said that they couldn't do anything.
There goes the peace-keeping system.
I gave her P35, because any more than P40 I will have to walk home, and that is not an option.
When I arrived in Marikina, the dress wasn't even started yet because of the work load Ate Belen was having at the moment.
On Twilight the book.
apalled
So people had been making this Twilight hype for a while now. They've read the books, watched the movie, prolly half of them are fangirling over it, and half are tying it on a stake to burn it down to a crisp.
Me? I'm just watching the entertainment.
So here I am, posting in LJ, the first time after a long time, and I'm going to review about Twilight, the first of four books.
If you're a Twilight fan, I suggest you skip this entry.
